I am very happy to annouce that Rouge Lioness is now a blogger for No Kid Hungry! Some of you may have seen the social media blast outs, but it is very exciting news.
DoSomething.org states that 80% of unmarried teen mothers will be on welfare. Unfortunately, this statistic does not include unmarried young adult mothers, but the percentage for them is high than their counterparts as well. During my period of being a married single mother and now as a single mother, I am a part of that statistic. I understand the benefit and blessing of having such assistance. I also know how limiting it can be as well. My daughter’s access to an adequate education is only accessible because of public assistance. It is also how she is able to receive breakfast and lunch on school days.
I joined No Kid Hungry as a supporter, advocate and blogger because I believe in their mission. No child should go to school hungry. A lunch meal should not be the only healthy and fulling meal that children receive throughout the day. To show support and educate young mothers on healthy inexpensive meal options for them and their children, Rouge Lioness will be continously sharing out No Kid Hungry content from Cooking Matters.
