Happy Cinco de Mayo. While I encourage the celebration of family and food, let’s not forget that Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of Mexican army’s victory of 1862 over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. Let’s not forget that there are veterans around the world that should be honored and before we start partying, let’s remember the service and sacrifice that they gave in honor of their country. Afterwards, let’s remember that this is day should be a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage.
